Installing Apps

For details on using the app, see the 'app' section of the documentation.

iPhone

Android

Download the Android app from here and select "open".

When asked if you want to install the application, click "Install".

If you are asked to scan the app, that is fine, select "Scan App".

Finally, select "Open".

There are some permissions that need to be granted when the app is first run.

See Sailing does not actually access the device's location, but you need to allow permission in order to enable bluetooth. The app will not work without bluetooth enabled. Click "While using the app".

The app will need to continue running if the phone sleeps, is locked, or if another app is used. Click "Allow" to enable this.

Allowing access to files is necessary for See Sailing to export data. You can leave this disabled if you do not need to export data.

Finally press the "back" button '<' at the bottom of your screen to return to the app. If you've connected the gateway to your boat, you should now be receiving NMEA data.

Note that the "back" button will exit the app and hence has been disabled to prevent accidental exit.
